The Congo Restoration Girls School of Compassion currently has 120 students, grades 1 through 4. It costs $350 to cover each girl’s entire educational experience for one year, which includes:
- Teacher salaries
- School supplies
- Breakfast and lunch
Because education isn’t free or mandatory in the Democratic Republic of Congo, many girls in rural DRC do not get even an elementary education. If families can afford the fees, they usually opt to send their boys.
We are working to empower these girls with education by creating a school that teaches French (meaning they are prepared for college), provides food (most children in the DRC eat only once a day), clean water, and proper bathrooms (unheard of in rural DRC).
For $350 annually (or $29 a month), you can take part in one girl’s educational journey.
